Pre-Derby Party & Fall Trip Preview
Thursday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m.
Celebrate the 143rd Kentucky Derby with a pre-Derby event featuring southern style hors d’oeuvres, bourbon tasting, traditional mint juleps, and an opportunity to learn more about the Spirit of Kentucky fall trip to Louisville. Wear your Derby hat(optional, of course) and join us as we get ready for the annual “Run for the Roses.” Contact the GPYC Front Desk to make your reservation. $25++.
Riedel Glass Tasting
Thursday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Please join us for a Riedel wine glass workshop. Riedel will demonstrate the relationship between the shape of the glass and the perception and enjoyment of wine. Each participant will receive a complimentary Riedel Veritas tasting set (four glasses) $80++.
Susan Chapman Mahjong Tournament
Friday, May 12 from Noon to 4 p.m.

Mates’ Boat Handling Course
Tuesday, June 6 from 9 – 10:30 a.m.
This complimentary class is intended for those looking to learn the rules of the road for boating this summer and to get hands-on experience handling vessels on the water. There will be emphasis on vessel safety as well. The first portion of the course will feature classroom instruction from 9 - 10:30 a.m. The remainder of the course will feature on-the-water boat handling, courtesy of our volunteer members from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. The GPYC at The Old Club
June 23 – 25
Commodore Klenow and Commodore Martino-DiCicco of the Old Club have planned a joint club event for June 23- 25. This fun weekend will begin with GPYC’s annual Old Club Dinner Cruise with live music and dancing on Friday, June 23, beginning at 6:00 PM. GPYC members can extend their stay at The Old Club where a block of rooms has been reserved for them and their guests. A limited number of boat wells will also be available for overnight stay. The weekend will include dinner on Saturday, putting contests, trap shooting and so much more. To reserve a boat well, call the GPYC Front Desk no later than June 1, 2017. GPYC Weekend at Catawba Island Club
July 14 - 16
The Catawba Island Club will be welcoming members of the GPYC for the weekend of July 14-16, 2017. Boat well reservations can be made by contacting the GPYC Front Desk. Please make your reservations by June 23.
CIC is also offering GPYC members access to on-site activities such as golf, pickle ball, and tennis. Space is limited. If you’re interested in golf, please mention this to the GPYC Front Desk and the GPYC staff will check availability for you. Other activities are first come, first served. All dining reservations should be made by calling CIC at (419) 797-4424.
2017 Up North Rendezvous
July 30 - August 2
Mackinaw City Straits Marina
This year’s Up North Rendezvous will be held from July 30 – August 2 at the Straits State Harbor in Mackinaw City. Whether by land or by sea, all members are encouraged to participate in the Up North Rendezvous. Those who plan to attend the rendezvous should make reservations through the Front Desk.
