Renovations!
Reached $2 Million and growing

Marine Activity Center:

Our two-story world-class Marine Activity Center (MAC) serves as the focal point for all sailing and watersports. Located at the southeast corner of the Club’s harbor, the facility features an area for classroom instruction, flat-screen TVs to view racing footage, equipment storage, restrooms and a water bottle refilling station.

The MAC, which is equipped with bleachers and a second-story lookout deck, is the perfect spot to watch Stadium Sailing events. These short races are held close to the seawall, allowing spectators a front row seat to the action on the water.

Floating Docks:

The Marine Activity Center (MAC) is surrounded with new floating docks which are used for sailing programs and water sports. The docks are home to a variety of sailboats such as J/70s, 420s and fully restored J/22s, as well as kayak and jet ski storage.

Harbor Renovations:

Over the past few years, GPYC’s harbor has undergone extensive renovations. The South Wall was completely replaced, with a new double sheeted seawall, main walkway, finger docks, pedestals and pump-out facilities. In addition, the Club’s Tee Dock was resurfaced and new electrical and water service was installed for the “long deck.” The harbor also boasts a new swing bridge and upgraded jib hoist.

Family Activity Center:

GPYC’s tennis courts and the surrounding area have undergone a major transformation into a unique, state-of-the-art Family Activity Center. The center boasts new sub-irrigated clay tennis courts, four pickle ball courts, bocce courts, half basketball court, play scape and splash pad.

Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms:

A complete refresh of the women’s locker room was completed in 2017, while the men’s locker room overhaul was finished in early 2018. New tile was installed in the hallway near the women’s locker room as well.

Renovations such as these are made possible by the generous member donations to the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club Foundation, an independent 501(C)(3) organization created to preserve the Historic Club House. These tax-deductible gifts assist us in our continuing efforts to enhance our Club for the benefit of all our membership.
